Version 2026-11-02. These terms apply when you verify your identity with Zoi ID, a service of ZOI LABS LLC ("we"). The terms of the app that sent you to Zoi ID (for example the Zoi Terms of Service) also apply.
1. What Zoi ID does
Zoi ID checks that your identity document is genuine, that it belongs to you and that you are a real person present at the camera. It then tells the app that sent you whether you are verified. It does not create an account, a credit check or a public profile.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old (19 if you live in Korea, 20 if you live in Thailand), use your own genuine and valid document, and act for yourself. We cannot serve people who live in, or connect from, places where United States sanctions forbid it (today: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and the Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine), or people on a sanctions list.
3. Your promises
You promise that everything you give us is true, that the document is yours, that you are the person in the video, and that you do not use any tool to change, fake or inject the camera picture or the chip data. Using someone else's document or a fake one may be a crime; we may report it and keep the evidence for as long as the law allows.
4. Our decision
We decide with care, mostly with automated checks and, where a person is really needed, with trained reviewers, as described in the Privacy Notice. We may ask you to try again, approve or not approve. If you disagree with a decision you can ask for a person to review it. A verification can expire (when your document expires, and at the latest after 3 years) or be suspended or withdrawn if we learn it was wrong or the law requires it.
5. No guarantee
We do our best to keep Zoi ID available and correct, but it may sometimes be unavailable or make a mistake. To the extent the law allows, Zoi ID is provided "as is", and our total liability to you for Zoi ID is limited to 100 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
6. Your data
How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy Notice and the Biometric Data Policy. You can withdraw and delete your data at any time.
7. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the version date at the top changes when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection and data protection laws of the country where you live, and to your right to go to the courts there.
