Version 2026-11-01. ZOI LABS LLC is a United States company and follows United States sanctions law administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). We also screen the sanctions lists of the United Nations, the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Who we cannot serve
- People on a sanctions list we screen, or acting for one.
- People who live in, or connect from, a place under comprehensive United States sanctions. Today these are Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. As a precaution we also treat the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine the same way.
Nationality alone is never a reason to refuse. A citizen of any country who lives somewhere else can verify; when the document comes from one of the places above, a trained reviewer looks at the case.
How we screen
- Every verification is screened against OFAC (SDN and consolidated non-SDN lists), the US Consolidated Screening List, the UN Security Council consolidated list, the EU consolidated financial sanctions list and the UK sanctions list, using name, name in the original script, date of birth, nationality and document number.
- Lists refresh several times a day. If a list is out of date or the screening service is down, no verification is approved until it is back.
- Verified people are screened again every day against list changes.
- A possible match is never decided by software: two different trained reviewers must agree. A confirmed match is blocked, and we report to authorities where the law requires.
- Screening records are kept for 10 years.
